AA’s Equator Principles compliant loan facilities

The Airport Authority’s (AA) five-year HK$35 billion syndicated loan facilities are the first corporate syndicated loan in Hong Kong that are compliant with the Equator Principles, a risk management framework adopted by financial institutions for determining, assessing and managing environmental and social risk in projects.

The AA’s syndicated loan facilities received two awards, including the “Best Investment Grade Syndicated Loan” in the GlobalCapital Asia Awards 2020 in December 2020 and the “Best Syndicated Loan” in The Asset Triple A Sustainable Capital Markets Regional Awards 2020 in January 2021.

Supported by 21 local and international banks, the syndicated loan is recognised as the largest loan syndication in Hong Kong in 2020.
