AAHK won Gold Award at 2024 HKAEE

23  January  2026

Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) was honoured to take home the “Gold Award – Public and Community Services” at the 2024 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence. This marks the sixth time AAHK has earned one of the most respected environmental awards in Hong Kong, reaffirming its unwavering dedication to achieving environmental excellence, and ongoing efforts toward becoming the World’s Greenest Airport.

Over the years, AAHK has been reducing airport-wide emissions through various initiatives, including the adoption of cutting-edge building analytics technology for Terminal 1’s air handling units and use of renewable diesel in Ground Services Equipment. AAHK also provided key support for the establishment of 2,400-hectare North Lantau Marine Park and scaled-up marine ecology and fishery enhancement measures. Our Green Airport Design and Construction Strategy continues to provide a consistent approach embedding green design and sustainable construction considerations in both building and infrastructure projects at Hong Kong International Airport.
