Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) is actively promoting a green office culture as one of the key initiatives to reduce its environmental footprint. Over the years, AAHK has been implementing multiple initiatives to foster a green office culture and create a more sustainable workplace.
Recently, AAHK launched a trial programme to collect food waste and coffee grounds from office pantries and taken them to government facilities for biogas production and electricity generation. AAHK also introduced energy-saving and paper reduction initiatives across our office buildings. Since March 2025, office computers have been programmed to automatically enter hibernation mode daily if they are not switched off at night. Further measures are also in place to reduce the energy consumption of lighting and air-conditioning system, and digitalising documents to reduce paper consumption across AAHK departments.
