On 17 May, Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) organised a boat eco-tour for AAHK staff and their family and friends to explore the diverse marine ecosystems surrounding Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA).
Participants were guided by experts to navigate through the North Lantau waters. They gained a deeper understanding of the ecology in North Lantau waters and AAHK’s ongoing efforts in enhancing marine ecology and fisheries resources, including deployment of artificial reefs and shellfish reefs, the installation of eco-enhanced seawall blocks, and fish restocking projects. The tour concluded with a thrilling encounter with one of the famous inhabitants of the waters, the Chinese White Dolphins, leaving participants with a memorable experience of this journey.
