2021 Climate Change Business Journal Business Achievement Award

Airport Authority (AA) received a Business Achievement Award under “Industry Leadership: Airport Resilience” category organised by Climate Change Business Journal.

The accolade commends AA and it’s study consultant, AECOM, for the implementation of the Climate Resilience Study in 2020 to review and strengthen Hong Kong International Airport’s operational resilience and adaptive capacity to a changing climate. The study, underpinned by scenario analysis, developed a Climate Adaptation and Resilience Plan based on an assessment of prioritised physical climate risks relating to key assets and operations, and a transition risk analysis to examine potential impacts associated with the transition to a low-carbon economy.   AA also published a Taskforce on Climate-related Finance Disclosures (TCFD) Statement in Sustainability Report 2020/21 to communicate its material climate-related risks and opportunities, setting precedence for other airports and demonstrating its commitment to HKIA’s Greenest Airport Pledge.
