Environmental NGO Green Power held the first Interflow of the In-To Tung Chung River Conservation project on 1 March. Funded by the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) Environmental Fund, the project brings together government departments, academia, NGOs, and the local community to raise awareness of the ecological value of the Tung Chung River. The three-year project was launched in 2018 to encourage multi-stakeholder discussion and collaboration on the government's development plans for the Tung Chung River Park within the Tung Chung New Town Extension.

At the Interflow, AA Assistant General Manager, Sustainability Mike Kilburn delivered the welcome speech to kick off the session. Government departments, including the Civil Engineering and Development Department, the Drainage Services Department and the Water Supplies Department, shared their roles and expertise in revitalising the lower Tung Chung River. Together with academics from local universities, the discussion continued around the challenges ahead.
