HKIA Boosts GBA Services as “Park & Fly” Expands in June and “Park & Visit” Launches in July

2026/06/08

(Hong Kong, 8 June 2026, 1530hrs) – Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) welcomes the Government’s further expansion of the “Southbound Travel for Guangdong Vehicles” scheme. In support of the expansion, HKIA announced that its “Park & Fly” service will be extended to all cities in Greater Bay Area (GBA) from mid-June, alongside the launch of a new “Park & Visit” service in July. These enhancements will offer greater convenience to travellers driving to HKIA for onward air connections, as well as visitors travelling to Hong Kong by car for leisure purposes.

HKIA launched the “Park & Fly” service in November 2025, covering eligible vehicles (including single-plate vehicles) from four Guangdong cites – Guangzhou, Zhongshan, Zhuhai and Jiangmen – as well as Macao in the GBA. With the Southbound Travel for Guangdong Vehicles scheme expanded from 9 June this year to include five additional Guangdong cities – Shenzhen, Dongguan, Huizhou, Foshan and Zhaoqing – and travellers from these locations will also be eligible to apply for Park & Fly. Beginning 15 June, eligible users may drive via the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge (HZMB) to the automated car park adjacent to HKIA, park their cars using the automated parking system, and proceed to global destinations via HKIA without the need to clear Hong Kong border controls. Moreover, eligible passengers may apply for a refund of the air passenger departure.

On 16 July, the new Park & Visit service will be launched to facilitate inbound travel to Hong Kong by car and eligible vehicles from the GBA will be able to apply for the service. Starting from 25 July, successful applicants may drive via the HZMB to the automated car park, use the automated parking system, and take shuttle bus to the HZMB Hong Kong Port to complete immigration procedures and enter Hong Kong.

Vivian Cheung, Chief Executive Officer of Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK), said, “We thank the Central Government, Guangdong Province and the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region for expanding the ‘Southbound Travel for Guangdong Vehicles’ scheme, which further supports our automated car park project. We will continue to leverage the advantages brought by the HZMB to provide diversified intermodal transport services and attract more travellers from the GBA to connect with the world through HKIA. At the same time, we aim to facilitate inbound visitors’ access to Airport City SKYTOPIA and its diverse offerings, further advancing the development of Hong Kong’s tourism industry.”
