(Hong Kong, 15 November 2025, 1400hrs) – “Park & Fly”, the latest intermodal transfer connection provided by Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) for passengers from the Greater Bay Area (GBA), has commenced service today.

“Park & Fly” is open to passengers driving qualified vehicles from Guangdong Province (including single-plate vehicles) and Macao. Starting today air passengers from the GBA can drive their own vehicles over the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) directly to the “Park & Fly” car park right next to HKIA, leave them to the automated system and travel to global destinations via HKIA, without the need to clear Hong Kong border controls. Pre-booking is required. Passengers can complete all required procedures on the dedicated, one-stop online platform operated by Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK).

Fred Lam, Chairman of AAHK and Mable Chan, Secretary for Transport and Logistics welcomed passengers on the first day of the new intermodal service at the car park.

Fred Lam said, “‘Park & Fly’ signifies our commitment to the GBA market and regional integration. In addition to cross-boundary high-speed ferries, buses, and high-speed rail, ‘Park & Fly’ provides another option for travellers from Guangdong and Macao that brings the airport right to their doorsteps. We provide a convenient one-stop reservation service. This fully automated car park built and operated by AAHK is not only the largest of its kind in Hong Kong, but rarely seen anywhere else. We believe it will set a new benchmark for future car park design. Next year we will launch ‘Park & Visit’ to facilitate inbound travel.”

Mable Chan said, “The ‘Park & Fly’ automated car park is a key supporting facility for the ‘Southbound Travel Scheme’ policy and represents its first major milestone. One bridge, two-way connectivity, benefitting numerous industries and creating limitless opportunities — the journey begins today. It also expresses even more comprehensively the value of HZMB as a ‘Bridge of Unity’. ‘Park & Fly’ fully demonstrates Hong Kong’s proactive efforts in smart transport and innovative services, and signifies Hong Kong’s deeper integration into the nation’s overall development strategy. It will continue to enhance Hong Kong’s status as an international aviation hub, contributing more to Hong Kong, the GBA, and the whole country.”

Located within the restricted area of the Hong Kong Port of the HZMB and adjacent to HKIA, the five-storey ‘Park & Fly’ car park provides 1,800 parking spaces at the initial stage and 3,000 spaces in total upon project completion. The car park also provides designated areas for passenger drop-off or pick-up.

Adopting advanced technology to ensure both efficiency and security, ‘Park & Fly’ is Hong Kong’s first fully automated parking service. After leaving their cars to the automated system, departure passengers will take a bonded bus directly to the airport’s restricted area for boarding. The bonded bus will take arrival passengers from the restricted area to the car park to retrieve their vehicles.
