Only some shops and restaurants provide limited service
(HONG KONG, 7 April 2020) – According to the latest government announcement, the anti-epidemic measures that have started from 0000hrs on 25 March 2020 will remain effective until further notice. All transit/transfer services at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), including air transit/transfer, cross boundary land transport and cross boundary ferry transfer, continue to be suspended; all non-Hong Kong residents coming from overseas countries / regions by plane are denied entry to Hong Kong; non-Hong Kong residents coming from the Mainland, Macao and Taiwan are denied entry to Hong Kong if they have been to any overseas countries / regions in the 14 days prior to arrival.
The suspension of most of the shops and restaurants in HKIA’s terminal since 25 March will continue until further notice. Around 20 shops and restaurants continue to provide passengers with essential services for shortened operating hours, including food and beverage, pharmacy, convenience store, money exchange and duty-free shops.
Until further notice, Airport Authority Hong Kong will extend the period of rent free concession for shops and restaurants that have suspended service, while the waiver of the fixed rent for shops and restaurants that remain open will also continue.
