Only Some Airport Shops and Restaurants Provide Limited Service Starting from 25 March

(HONG KONG, 24 March 2020)  –  According to the latest Government announcement, starting from 0000hrs on 25 March 2020, all transit/transfer services at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) will be suspended; all non-Hong Kong residents coming from overseas countries / regions by plane will be denied entry to Hong Kong; non-Hong Kong residents coming from the Mainland, Macao and Taiwan will be denied entry to Hong Kong if they have been to any overseas countries / regions in the 14 days prior to arrival. These measures are tentatively effective for 14 days.

In view of the latest anti-epidemic measures, operations for passenger services at HKIA will be scaling down and most of the shops and restaurants in HKIA’s terminal building will suspend operation for 14 days from 25 March to 7 April. Around 20 shops and restaurants will provide passengers with essential services for shortened operating hours, including food and beverage, pharmacy, convenience store, money exchange and duty-free shops.

In tandem with the arrangement, Airport Authority Hong Kong will provide rent free concession for 14 days for shops and restaurants that are closed during the period. For shops and restaurants that remain open during the 14 days, their fixed rent will be waived for the period.
