Cambodian Mekong Airlines launches flight to HKIA

2003/03/07

(HONG KONG, 7 March 2003) - Cambodian Mekong Airlines launched a new service today between Phnom Penh and Hong Kong. Its inaugural flight to Hong Kong International Airport landed at 1445 hours.

This new service to the Cambodian capital, Phnom Penh, will also link passengers to Angkor Wat with an immediate connection to Siem Reap, the fast-growing tourist area and gateway to the historic Buddhist temple complex.

With its elaborate spires and bas-relief tableaux, Angkor Wat is the world’s largest monument and venerated as a religious and architectural marvel.

Mekong Airlines will fly to and from Hong Kong each week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The Phnom Penh-based carrier commenced service in January this year with services to Siem Reap, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.
