HONG KONG, 30 June 2002) - China Yunnan Airlines has become the eighth Mainland Chinese airline serving Hong Kong with the launch of their new daily service to Kunming.
The airline has launched a B737 daily flight to the capital of Yunnan Province in Southwestern China. The airline also operates the main airports in Yunnan, a rapidly developing economic and tourism region that borders Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar and Tibet and is noted for its astonishing natural beauty and ethnic diversity.
Airport Authority Chief Executive Officer, Dr David J Pang welcomed the airline to Hong Kong International Airport. "This new service is a timely addition to our air network, especially considering the growing attraction of Southwestern China for tourists and businessmen" Dr Pang said. "China Yunnan Airlines now becomes one of our important business partners and I wish them every success."
