(HONG KONG, 21 August 1998) -- All services at the new Hong Kong International Airport are returning to normal, the Airport Authority (AA) said today.
On Thursday (20 August), the main air cargo franchisee, Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (HACTL), announced that full air cargo operations would be conducted at SuperTerminal 1 from Monday, 24 August. This is a week ahead of the company's earlier target of transferring all operations to SuperTerminal 1 by the end of August.
Passenger services throughout the past week continued to maintain levels of efficiency equal to or better than at Kai Tak. Three quarters of flights were leaving on time or within 15 minutes of schedule. Almost all arriving passengers were clearing Immigration within 15 minutes, and the average waiting time for their bags was 11 minutes.
