HKQAA International Symposium & Hong Kong Green and Sustainable Finance Awards 2022

The Airport Authority (AA) received the Outstanding Award for Green and Sustainable Bond Issuer (Infrastructure) - Largest Single Green Bond in the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency Hong Kong Green and Sustainable Finance Awards 2022. This award recognises AA’s contribution in supporting green and sustainable finance development in Hong Kong, in particular its inaugural green bond which was more than three times oversubscribed. The green bond issuance forms part of the US$4.0 billion multi-tranche which marks the largest bond issuance for an airport operator globally, the largest US dollar bond deal since 2003 from Hong Kong issuers and the largest ever debut corporate ESG bond in Hong Kong and Asia Pacific.

In addition, AA was honoured with Pioneering Organisation in Climate Disclosure Planning which acknowledges AA’s leading status on climate disclosure. AA launched its first Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures Statement since 2021, making Hong Kong International Airport one of the first Asian airports to publish a statement, setting precedence for other airports.
