From uniforms to upcycled treasures

Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) has initiated an upcycling program for leftover and unused uniforms as part of its new uniform project. 

From the outset of the new uniform project in 2022, Hactl has been committed to finding a second life for its old uniforms. To achieve this goal, Hactl has partnered with St. James’ Settlement Jockey Club Upcycling Centre to upcycle over 8,000 unused old uniforms into durable and stylish bags, as well as cute teddy bears made from smaller off-cuts. By utilising every part of the uniforms, Hactl can reduce waste and avoid landfill disposal. The production process also provides work opportunities for people with disabilities, making the program both environmentally friendly and socially responsible.
