A Subcontractor Staff Identified as Close Contact of COVID-19 Patient<br>Relevant Work Areas and Transportation Cleaned and Disinfected


(HONG KONG, 6 January 2021, 2000hrs)  –  Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA) received a report today that a worker from a subcontractor of the Three-runway System (3RS) project has been identified as close contact of his family member who had been confirmed to be infected with COVID-19. The concerned worker is undergoing quarantine arranged by the Government. Relevant work areas and the vessels that transported the concerned worker to and from the work site have been arranged to be cleaned and disinfected.

The concerned worker is a staff member of a subcontractor of the 3RS contractor Sinohydro Corporation Limited, Powerchina Airport Construction Company Limited, Paul Y. Construction Company Limited and Rock-One Engineering Company Limited Joint Venture. He last reported duty on 5 January. He had worn face mask all the time while working. Other workers who had been in contact with the concerned staff have been arranged by their companies to take COVID-19 test and wait for test results at home.

The AA has stringent guidelines for contractors and subcontractors to ensure public health safety of staff and airport users.
