The story of DAKS Simpson began in 1894, when Simeon Simpson established a bespoke tailoring factory in Whitechapel in the City of London supplying top quality men’s clothing shops. In 1934, the self-supporting trousers, with a patented waistband called DAKS TOP were born. The brand name DAKS has overtones of "DAd" and "slacKS". DAKS is recognised worldwide for its House Check, which was introduced in 1976, and become the international symbol of the brand, featuring throughout the clothing and accessory ranges. DAKS is the holder the three Royal Warrants from H.R.H The Duke of Edinburgh in 1956, followed by Her Majesty The Queen in 1962 and H.R.H The Prince of Wales in 1982.
