Passport and security control
After check in and receiving a boarding card, passengers should proceed to passport and security control through either Terminal 1 or Terminal 2. Please ensure your hand baggage measures no more than 56 cm x 36 cm x 23 cm.
All departing passengers must carry the following documents:
- A valid passport (some countries do not accept passports with less than six months to run); and
- A Departure Card for visitors to Hong Kong .
Hong Kong residents are required to present your Hong Kong Identity Card.
All non-residents complete an Arrival Card on entering Hong Kong. The bottom sheet (left in your passport) becomes your Departure Card. When you leave, fill in the date and your flight number before you reach passport control.
Enhanced security measures are in place at the airport. Do not pack any restricted articles or dangerous goods in your baggage or carry it on person. To avoid unnecessary delays, make sure you do not pack an excessive amount of liquids, aerosols and gels in your hand baggage. If in doubt, please check for more details from Airport Security or review the list of restricted articles.
