Autumn fun

Hong Kong International Airport will be lit up with fun and excitement during the Mid-Autumn Festival. Chinese orchestra, folk dance and puppet show will bring happiness to people at the airport.  Bring your family and friends to join in the fun.

Chinese handicraft trolley

Want to make a grasshopper from straw? Our mobile handicraft trolley will demonstrate interesting and easy-to-make Chinese handicrafts such as straw grasshopper and lucky knot to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival.

"Bits of Old Hong Kong" exhibition

To introduce the history of Hong Kong to travellers, an exhibition entitled “Bits of Old Hong Kong” is organised by Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) in collaboration with the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and supported by Hong Kong Museum of History.

The exhibition features a rich collection of photos, taking visitors back to the old days of Hong Kong. It highlights different faces of old Hong Kong, including its daily life, trade and commerce, transportation and fashion.

Location: Near Gate 36, Departures Level, Terminal 1 (restricted area)
Between Aisle F and G, Check-in Hall, Departures Level, Terminal 1 (non-restricted area)


The cultural Hong Kong

An exhibition about Hong Kong’s distinctive culture and heritage is being held near Departure Gate 35. Co-organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and HKIA, the “Discovering Hong Kong Cultural Traditions” exhibition features a selection of 24 colourful exhibits from traditional festivals of Hong Kong including Tin Hau Festival, Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance, Dragon Boat, Bun Festival, and Cantonese Opera. It gives overseas travellers a visual introduction of Hong Kong's local cultures and customs.

In addition, several wood and metal sculptures made by young local sculptors are on display at East Hall, Level 7, near food court on the airside.


Magic moment

Our magicians, with their dazzling tricks, are ready to give our passengers a pleasant surprise. Popping up near departure gates on selected days, they lead our travellers to a magical journey. Come along and join in the fun!
