'Pot and Tea' & 'Tea.Ceramics.Joy'

From May 2016 to Feb 2018, Leisure and Culture Services Department, co-sponsored by Hong Kong International Airport ("HKIA"), have set up an exhibition in HKIA to give viewers a deeper understanding of the history of tea trading in China and to present the creativity of Hong Kong potters.

"Bathtime Fun"

Bathtime Fun

Winning the creation of Tian Tan Buddha in Canstruction competition last year, Airport Authority once again rolled up their sleeves and participated in the 2016 competition which was organized by Food Angel. Over 14,000 food cans to create a yellow duck in a bathtub which evoked the event's "Childhood Memories" theme. The work "Bathtime Fun" has won the People's Choice Award by receiving the most number of votes during a public voting of the event. Thousands of cans of luncheon meat, tuna and beans were selected for their variety of colours and sizes to create the larger-than-life structure. After the competition, the cans were donated to food rescue via Food Angel for the needy.

'Made in Hong Kong' Exhibition

Hong Kong manufacturing industry played an important role in Hong Kong's economic development. During the 1950s and 1970s, it became the key economic pillars in Hong Kong. Showcasing over one hundred items selected from the collections of the Hong Kong Museum of History, the "Made in Hong Kong" exhibition illustrates the heyday of the Hong Kong manufacturing industry in retrospect and manifest the flexibility, adaptability and creativity of the Hong Kong people.
