The Airport Authority (AA) received the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Study Brief from the Director of Environmental Protection in August 2012 which sets out the scope of environmental issues to be addressed in the EIA study.
The AA is firmly committed to carrying out the EIA process in a highly prudent, transparent and professional manner, and exploring all possible ways to avoid, minimise, mitigate and compensate for the potential environmental impacts that may arise. The AA will continue to engage and communicate with various stakeholders in the process.
Environmental protection is a core value of Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). From the airport's design and construction, to its operations and continued development, we strive to act in an environmentally-friendly manner.
Over the years, we have developed numerous environmental programmes and initiatives covering a wide range of areas including air quality, carbon reduction, energy, waste and recycling as well as water management. For details, please click here.
