The 105,000-square-metre five-storey Midfield Concourse (MFC) has commissioned full operations, providing 20 parking positions with boarding gate number 201 – 230. Passengers can reach the MFC by an extension of the Automated People Mover system from Terminal 1.

Second field trial on Deep Cement Mixing

The Airport Authority completed the second field trial on Deep Cement Mixing (DCM) in January 2016. The trial was to evaluate the performance of different contractors under various airport height restrictions and continuous operation, as well as collect valuable data, to optimise the construction planning and detailed design for the land formation of Hong Kong International Airport's three-runway system.
