Assistant Manager, Environment (Ref: PROJ12-0195-W-01)

Responsibilities:

 

Reporting to Senior Manager, Environment of Projects Department, the successful candidate will assist in ensuring the Authority’s medium and long term development projects are undertaken to best practice environmental standards and achieve compliance with all applicable environmental and related legislation, including the Environmental Impact Assessment Ordinance.  His/her major responsibilities will include:

  • Provide technical assistance in the management of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and carbon studies
  • Monitor progress and performance of relevant environmental and carbon consultancy studies
  • Coordinate and proactively respond to EIA and design interface issues
  • Liaise with relevant government departments/bureau, NGOs, green groups and stakeholders on environmental matters
  • Formulate requirements, participate and coordinate relevant environmental monitoring and audits

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree holder in environment-related disciplines with at least 5 years’ relevant experience in environmental field
  • Hands-on experience in EIA (in particular air quality, noise and/or ecology) and carbon studies 
  • Team player with good planning, coordination and interpersonal skills
  • Self-disciplined and able to work independently
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.  Knowledge of Putonghua would be an advantage
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and applicable project management software
