(HONG KONG, 25 August 2015) – Farewell embraces, frequent flight movements, busy apron operations… all of these airport scenes will be familiar sights in town starting from today. The Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA) has launched its first roving photo exhibition – “HKIA In Focus” which will appear at several major shopping malls around Hong Kong Island and Kowloon starting from today until 1 November. The exhibition will feature the unique beauty of Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) which has grown together with the people of Hong Kong.
The exhibition includes four zones. One of which highlights the winning photos as well as other photos submitted to the AA’s “HKIA In Focus” Photo Competition. The competition - held in May this year - attracted more than 3,800 local and overseas submissions. The other three zones feature many memorable pictures since HKIA moved to Chek Lap Kok in 1998, showcasing the charm and splendor of the airport.
C K Ng, Executive Director, Airport Operations, AA, said, “Operations at HKIA are busy every day, continuously welcoming tens of thousands of passengers from around the world. Those captures are memorable. As passengers are sometimes too rushed to appreciate HKIA’s finer details, we hope the exhibition will allow them to see the airport from different points of view – and enjoy the airport’s unique features when they come again.”
Free souvenir postcards of four different designs will be given out to exhibition visitors, while stock lasts*.
